A Diamond Ring—Worth $607K
In 1986, one woman from West London, Debra Goddard, bought a glass ring for $13 at a boot sale. She thought that it is just a simple, worthless ring for over 33 years.
Due to a relative’s fraud, Debra’s mother lost all her money, so Debra had to sell a lot of her belongings. That way she found out that her ring is far from worthless, it had a 26.27-carat diamond! The woman bought the ring for $13 and finds out it is worth $607,900.
Here is what Debra said to the media: “When I went to the jeweler, he nearly fainted and said, ‘Do you know what this is? It’s a diamond.’ I sat up all night looking at it, wondering what to do”. She revealed that she spent most of the money on her mother and believed that it is karma for all the bad things that happened to her mom.
