Brian Cairns is an English carpenter who decided to buy the really valuable hoard of brass doorknobs and other goods that had been stored in a basement for 40 years. He thought it would be worth around £60,000. He inspected it better and realized that the brass goods may be vintage so he decided to send it to an expert. Brian found out that the goods are Italian vintage made by Vallli and Columbo. They have been valued at £2M.
In 2015, Brian told the media: “These are items that you would never have thought you would have the chance to buy. I think I was just lucky.”
