“Christ Mocked” Worth Up To $6.6 Million
One old woman from Compiègne, France wanted to sell her house so she invited an auctioneer to estimate the value of her belongings. The auctioneer Philomène Wolf had a week to estimate. She noticed a small painting hanging in the kitchen and wanted to investigate it closer. It turned out that it is the photo from the 13th century by the Italian artist Cimabue. The painting is known as “Christ Mocked” and is worth $4 million to $6.6 million.
